Hello Aqua Tutus,
Thanks to Vince Christian, founder of Sunflower Star Lab in Moss Landing, for updating us during the March general meeting on the lab's progress toward reintroducing sunflower stars to California's coast. Attendees were very interested in Vince's presentation and asked lots of questions. It was exciting to hear about the lab's progress. Hopefully, we'll be able to schedule another in-person visit to the lab to see how much larger the sunflower stars have grown.
For the club's April presentation, we'll have a members night for folks to share images and video taken at Cozumel, Mexico. If you've gone diving there, with or without other club members, and have photos or video you'd like to show other club members, please use the "Members Night April 2026 - Cozumel Focus" thread in the Club Event Communication forum to let David Sheh and Dave Chervin know and to access the Dropbox folder to upload your files to. A lot of club members have dove at Cozumel, some MANY times, so I'm hoping quite a few members will share what they've shot.
I think David Sheh. is looking for general meeting program suggestions for all but August in the upcoming year. If you have any suggestions, please let David know.
In this April's Tooter, Derek will publish a proposed change to the club's constitution and by-laws regarding associate members serving on the club's Board of Directors. Please review the proposed change and attend to April general meeting to vote for or against the change.
The club's April dive will be at Club Dive - Stillwater Cove, North Coast - 4/4/2026. Derek Suring is the point of contact for the dive, so do him a favor by using the link to register for the dive and join the dive's thread in the Club Dive forum. That way he'll know who to expect.
The club has scheduled our annual club dive at Salt Point Campout - 8/28/2026. Now is the time to make campsite reservations, so use Reserve California link in the event to do that and register for the event, so Debbie Driggers, event POC, knows you're coming.
