Hello Aqua Tutus,
Thanks to David McGuire, founder of Shark Stewards, for his presentation about local sharks and an update on the effects of sharks in the environment and their decline. It was an interesting presentation, and troubling account of the worldwide slaughter of sharks and related species. For those who missed it, or want to see it again, David Sheh, club program director, will try to make the recording available online.
For the November general meeting, Oliver Edwards, club vice-president, will do a show and tell of diving with a diver propulsion vehicle. Oliver will bring his DPV to the meeting, so in-person meeting attendees will get a better sense of whether they want to add a DPV to their diving activities. Since several club members are diving with DPVs, I'm sure the presentation will be lively with folks sharing their personal DPV experiences.
During the November general meeting, meeting attendees will elect next year's club president, vice-president, membership director, secretary, and treasurer. That meeting will be the last chance for members to run for any of the positions for 2025. The club website's home page has changed! If you haven't seen it lately, click here and let the board know what you think. We've tried to make the home page more friendly and navigation to key website pages more convenient to club members. Did we succeed?
Finally, the club calendar entry for the club's annual holiday party is finally published. There are some changes to this year's holiday party. Due to restaurant costs, we've raised the price and now require members register for the event on or before Friday, December 5th.
